Next level cocoa. Creamy, frothy, and in this case iced (because it’s still warm outside) yet filled with luscious flavor crafted in small batches using organic and wild crafted goods. Here I used Sun Potion’s Anandamide (also known as Bliss Alchemy) as the dreamy + herbal version of the hot cocoa. Perhaps like many others, I put value in what I choose to imbibe and perhaps it’s the HSP in me, I get more joy selecting products when you feel like you “know” where your edibles are coming from. This is why I personally love Sun Potion because of the founders’ genuine love + passion to create products that are sustainable & Sun Potion thrives for educating us on the plant science, not just the concept of a product.
Ingestible beauty has been around for a while and I am all for it, so lets talk about this Anandamide . Think: raw cacao, tocos, mucuna pruriens, ashwagandha, reishi mushroom, astragalus, and rose petals to name a few. If you’re new or want to test out the waters of herbal tonics + spices, this is the ideal way to begin. Sometimes the variety of herbs + powders can be overwhelming especially if you don’t know where to start or how to use them (which is truly important) but Sun Potion has created the Anandamide blend to make it easier for y’all. Their cacao is raw, has been shade grown on trees from the Ecuadorian jungles. They are then harvested, fermented, and sun-dried…I mean sumptuous right? Their intention behind this process is at the root of veracity in the product. Because its not being processed, raw cacao contains more of its compounds and deep sumptuous flavor. Anandamide is a wonderful superfood blend but for me personally I feel joy when I am imbibing anything derivative from the earth. Petals? Yes. Tumeric? Yes. Fungi? Always.
You can use Sun Potion’s Anandamide in various ways: scooped into a morning latte for a mocha flavor, blended into a smoothie bowl, or swirled with some nice cream. I personally love that this is a twist on the classic hot cocoa, as it’s completely vegan and contains no processed flavorings. But still its so dreamy you wouldn’t know the difference. You could top it with coconut whipped cream or even sprinkles to make it decadent. Add some more spices to infused it into a Mexican-hot-chocolate.
This elevated iced cocoa tonic beats the heat and fills any sweet tooth craving. The sweetness in this drink comes from Grade B Maple Syrup which gives it a caramel like flavor when mixed with the milk. You don’t need to add any other spices because this already has plenty! Although, I did add some more cinnamonbecause I cant get enough of it yall! Adding coconut butter is the gateway to frothy goodness. It’s optional but gives the aesthetic of a latte without any frother, so it’s the easy route. Top with cinnamon for some extra flavor.

Note* Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is a good source for the science behind botanical + plant wisdom but you can also refer to books on the topic, always do some factual research before you take something new. Sun Potion is a great source for run downs + contact if any questions!
