Sipsby is a new to me company that’s all about tea. Hailing out of Austin, TX this is a monthly tea discovery subscription box that curates to your personalized tea preferences. If you’re wary of trying out a box because you want to receive something you know you’ll like, the Sipsby signup includes a checklist of questions (its very simple but helpful!) such as preferred tea flavors, tea varieties (maybe you love green tea but don’t care for white tea), and so on. This keeps the element of surprise open and up to you!
Example, I selected that I prefer sweet, “dessert”, and health/wellness tea. I selected that I personally favor all types of tea leaves and non tea-leaves (tisanes) so that opened up my profile to be diverse. However, you can always retake your tea profile quiz if you want to shake things up or simply add more to your curations.
October, it felt like you came and went so fast. I can’t complain because I savored you as much as I could. From visiting Big Bear, getting lost at the pumpkin patch, visiting Disney in the Fall. While I ended up making my own pumpkin spice lattes this October, (highly recommend and you save a few dollars!) my actual Halloween was not incredibly exciting (fell asleep right away when I got home from work but hey I needed that rest!)
I’ll still be sharing my October Goals and a little later this month I will share November’s. I tend to journal late at night, when I feel a bit more comfortable to reflect. Am I the only one? I tend to be a night owl although I am working on developing healthier habits and getting to bed at a decent time. There are multiple layers of health which can at times feel exhausting but if it is anything I have learned in these past few months, it’s worth investing in.
This was perhaps one of the most special yet rejuvenating trips I have had in quite a long time. Travel can sometimes be stressful even if the goal is to vacation. You either bring too much or not enough, you feel rushed or feel like you should be doing more. Thankfully this was not the cause on our adventure. Our drive was windy but to eat diner food and share warm cocoa leaving us with fully bellies was a comfort in itself. Elevated by the actual autumnal weather as we hit the short drive to the cabin only to warm by the fire and listen to the thunder and watch the sparks of lightning.
This was a truly enchanting trip. We got a cabin from Air Bnb for a really good deal (if you want 40$ off your first trip use my code through this link!) I loved the fireplace and being so close to the trees and making tons of tea in the morning. Having never been to Big Bear, experiencing it in the autumn was a real joy. Driving at night felt as if I were driving through a Christmas town within a snow globe. At daytime we embarked out to explore the city, witnessing the trees hitting their peak of autumnal color – ranging from orange, ochre, and intense reds.
I have always been the kind of person that held a keen interest in paper goods. I loved the art of penpals, snail mail, and receiving or creating invitations. I always attributed this to having an artistic nature and wanting to explore and express myself in different mediums. I am definitely one of those people who keeps cards, letters, etc as momentos.
Basic Invite is a great website for those who like to customize and dabble with design, in particular those who may not have graphic design experience or want to have a bit of control over how their paper goods look. They have a wide variety of selections ranging from stationary, invites, business cards, and stickers for any occasion! I love scrolling through their instagram feed to see how others have created really gorgeous designs for their own events & business.
What I appreciate is that you can create anything you want, don’t want to create an invitation? you can create stationary to write your own thoughts or practice calligraphy – if you want to feature your own photography on a card, that’s also possible too.
