The new kid on the block in terms of subscription boxes is Kinder beauty Box. a vegan & cruelty free box filled with beauty + skincare items. The boxes are curated by actresses Evanna Lynch, (who played my favorite Harry potter character) Daniella Monet, and Andrew Bernstein. Advocating a plant based lifestyle and that is reflected in the title. Why not live a kinder life with the products that you use.
This is an honest review of the January Kinder beauty Box box, which is unfortunately sold out, but a peek of what’s to come in their upcoming boxes. A monthly plan starts at $24. Each box will contain 3-4 full-sized products and samples that are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and palm oil-free. The box and contents made from 100% recycled materials and is also biodegradable. A portion of all sales benefits animal rights charities. It’s wonderful that they are choosing products that are palm oil free because elevates the products in terms of social consciousness but also doing the work for you.
Winter hasn’t arrived yet but the holiday spirit is alive and well.
I try to live as close to zero waste as possible. I encourage anyone to take smell steps such as swapping plastic straws for reusable ones. Other options: making a few meals from home, bringing reusable (I have cotton) bags to the farmers market. Plastic bags should become a thing of the past.
Living sustainably should not mean living perfectly. None of us are perfect and to put ourselves on that pedestal can lead to burnout or feel like we aren’t reaching a standard. My hope Is that someday living sustainably will not be viewed as an exclusive standard, but that it can become accessible for everyone.
As February is self-love month, I figured we could address of aspect of self-care that I am getting better at managing. Skincare has become a priority in recent months. As I work on protecting my skin in my 20s, it’ definitely a work in progress. I try to be conscious of external factors that could be affecting my skin (think: weather, what you consume, and stress), I try to approach it with a steady mind and I completely accept there are days you skin wants a break!
I’ve focused the root of skincare to be: health, quality products for my morning + night routine, and supporting sustainable companies. I’m introducing a favorite botanical based skincare line of mine: OSEA is a luxury skincare line based out of Malibu, California. Their name reflects the company’s roots in a city by the sea, as well as curating their products with seaweeds that are responsibly sourced from the Sea of Patagonia. Their focus on algae has to do with the abundance of goodness found within: vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. To top it off, their line of skincare is vegan, gluten-free, and certified organic!
I could write a love song about this subscription box. I’m drawn to three things that seal the deal for me when it comes to making a purchase: aesthetic, quality, and sustainability. Goddess Provisions covers all these bases. Each month, their purpled hued box comes to your doorstep, boxes have their own theme and February’s revolved around “Faerie.” I loved that February was themed around something magical and curative. As you will see in the featured products below, each product really correlates to self love. It’s not about looking your best but feeling your best by rejuvenating (think baths, medicinal mushrooms, and flower water)
Each box will contain 5-7 products that are full sized (which is ideal for me because I don’t like the idea of trial sized products that can accumulate and leave waste). All of the products are vegan, cruelty free, and free shipping (worldwide as well).
