Can I just say I am extremely lucky that my boyfriend happens to make the trek with me out to LA (Erewhon specifically) to get the most delicious gluten-free bread. If you live in LA or happen to be visiting, I really recommend visiting Melrose. An adventure is to be had when you load up an electric scooter and ride your long along the colorful streets with unique eateries. Erewhon is a magical, self described “health food market” with plenty of allergen friendly foods and products. Erewhon carries Bread Srsly, which meant we stocked up on plenty of loaves and rolls.
Bread Srsly was the first gluten-free bread that tasted like real, quality bread, which for me meant I wasn’t missing out on flavor and texture. I hadn’t had their delicious bread until recently when we went to the Celiac Disease Gluten Free Expo. While we were there, we sampled their new varieties. It is worth every penny for this bread. The tangy sourdough flavor that leads to peak bread-high. I attribute this to the bread being wild-fermented, or cultured.
I’m definitely someone whose constantly on the move. Restless by nature until the urge for a nap kicks in and I have to recharge. When your day happens to revolve around the hustle – simplicity works best.
For those busy days I try to plan ahead and consider what I’ll be nibbling on during the day. I make these choices because I know I feel better when I’m giving my body whole foods. I speak passionately about this because I used to deal with frequent health issues, and in the past I was not always eating nutritiously. Now, I’m in the stage of my life where I am prioritizing my health and what I consume. Sticking to whole ingredients (most of the time), but not limiting myself to indulgences every so often (non dairy cookie dough ice cream).
By nature, I am a visual person. I gravitate toward sight, sounds, and ambiance. This also applies to food! When you bring playfulness into the equation it makes activities livelier, at least in my opinion!
I remember seeing variations on little forest animal toasts. I couldn’t help but swoon over the interpretations of creatures + fauna on edibles (be it lattes, cookies, etc) I think it’s an inventive way for encouraging creativity in the kitchen no matter your age. After all I did top mine with colorful flower crowns because it seemed proper to add an enchanting element.

Simple Kneads was created by Tristaun LeClaire whose son developed an allergic reaction to gluten, thus driving him to craft a delicious bread that could also be enjoyed by all. This touched my heart for a similar reason: when I found out I could no longer consume wheat or gluten, you do notice how many edibles are cut out and you truly do miss it, both the taste and the experience.
Why am I calling these overnight oats Flower-Child? Because they contain a combination of flowers that make this a lightly sweet overnight oatmeal with bursting with fruit-based prebiotics & probiotics! I am a huge fan of overnight oats because they are quick & easy to assemble + are excellent for whatever your mood is into that day when it comes to flavor + toppings.

This is the first time I have made granola! I’ve never had much of a fancy for granola (which was typically store-brought) so when I decided to go the homemade route my curiosity was piqued. Oh my goodness does it pay off and the best part is that granola is so quick and simple to make. The longest part is the baking portion. The best part is nibbling it by the handful. Homemade granola + tea has my heart. In my humble opinion (when it comes to granola) nothing can best the fresh flavor and texture from preparing it yourself and savoring it moments after..
When I saw that this recipe uses tea, I wanted to make it even more. Tea can add so much flavor and versatility in the kitchen. I also had a lone orange nestled in the fruit bowl that was promptly zested and elevates the citrus fragrance in this granola. It adds such beautiful color and vibrancy to the granola + easily swappable with whats in your pantry!
I veganize this recipe by swapping out honey and using Grade B Maple syrup. I had bulk dried cranberries + cherries in my own pantry that I used in place of freeze dried strawberries. In place of olive oil I used coconut oil. The final swap was buckwheat for sunflower seeds!
