For some, February is the themed month of love, romance, and the palette of rosy tones.
Real talk though: I think we could all use some self love. Whether it’s stress caused by our daily environment (work, school, etc.) or personal lives, (the ever-changing nature of news cycles), or simply the own expectations and ambitions we set on ourselves, sometimes you genuinely need a break. Which means putting yourself first. Which means stepping back to emotional check in with your self – mind, body, & soul.
Turthfully: bad days happen, obstacles happen, circumstances happen. Heartache happens. No matter how much we may try to prevent it, we’ll have those days or periods in our lives that will challenge us. I’ve humbly surrendered to giving myself space to feel my emotions. Instead of holding on or telling myself that nothing hurts me (lie) – I will find the time to let it go and release.
Collagen, it’s been everywhere lately. From lattes to broths and everything in between. What is collagen exactly? It’s a combination of (but not a complete protein) amino acids that help construct muscle, bone, cartilage, skin, hair, and connective tissue. Factually our bodies produce collegan but it declines we age, so I wanted to find a plant based collagen (was that even possible?) Most edible collagen is not plant-based; they are typically obtained from animal bone/animal cartilage.
Anima Mundi Apothecary formulated a Plant Based Collagen Powder, made with botanicals such as horsetail and nettles which helps build the body’s own natural production of collagen with collagen co-nutrients such as silica and calcium. This blend of Anima Mundi’s Vegan Collagen is completely plant-based. I like that these blend of herbs are meant to help your body boost its production of collagen. Since plants like stinging nettles and horsetail naturally contain calcium and silica, it’s a botanically convenient way to add a boost (remember, our body naturally makes collagen!) The human body creates its own collagen so adding nutrients that will help* slow down your loss of collagen
